POSITION TITLE: Crisis Worker
STATUS: Part-time, Non Exempt; On-call, typically for a 24 hour shift where the worker is available to take phone calls and provide face-to-face crisis intervention either at the local hospital or Children’s Justice Center.
LOCATION:
- Hilo office: 197 Kinoole Street
- Kona office: 75-5759 Kauakini Hwy #103B
Crisis workers may be required to meet from time to time with clients and other members of the Sexual Assault Response Team at other locations in the community. Workers also meet with community members and allied agencies at diverse sites.
WAGE RANGE: $40.00 to $60.00 per 24-hour shift, plus $15.00 per hour for direct service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Uphold and further the mission and the one imperative of the YWCA.
- Provide active listening and crisis stabilization to callers on the sexual assault hotline and to clients who walk in to the program office during business hours.
- Participate as a victim advocate with client, police, and examiner in forensic and investigation procedures after sexual assault.
- Protect client confidentiality, observing the client’s right to the Victim/Counselor privilege defined in Hawai’i Rules of Evidence.
- Understand, interpret, and follow state and federal laws regarding mandatory reporting of abuse of children and dependent adults.
- Complete service documentation in a timely fashion, using the program tools and procedures.
- Participate in collaborative efforts with allied community agencies such as, but not limited to, the police, hospital, Children’s Justice Center, Child Welfare Services, and the prosecutor’s office.
- Attends staff meetings and training events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Experience working with children and adults in a helping relationship (six months or longer). Crisis work experience or sexual assault specific experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Access to a personal single party line reliable telephone continuously during assigned on-call hours. Conditions in the phone location must allow for client privacy during phone contact.
- Ability to respond during assigned on-call hours at the appropriate medical facility within 30 minutes after receiving a dispatch call.
- Clean driving abstract, insurance and registration for a personal vehicle which will be used for business travel within the service area.
- Able to attend 35 hours of initial intensive program specific training to be scheduled potentially on weekdays and/or weekends.
- Personnel in the position must not have a history of victimizing others through interpersonal violence and must be free from conviction of a crime which would have a substantial relationship to the functions and responsibilities of the position.
Preferred:
- Associate degree from an accredited program in a human service field such as psychology, social work, nursing, or a related field.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- MUST be organized, work with accuracy and detail; have flexibility in shifting needs or circumstances; self-motivated and a good communicator.
- Able to work within a team as well as self-directed; must contribute to the team as member or a leader, as appropriate.

Family Support Worker

STATUS: Regular full time (40 hours); non-exempt
WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday, flexibility of scheduling during YWCA business hours of 6:00 am - 6:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. Travel to homes or other locations is required.
DEPARTMENT and LOCATION: YWCA HEALTHY START PROGRAM 1392 Kilauea Avenue, Hilo, HI 96720
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Uphold and further the mission and the one imperative of the YWCA.
- Works with families with Children 0-3 years in their natural environment to foster healthy children, positive parent-child interactions and healthy families.
- Participate in staff meetings and child team meetings to provide current information on the family's status to decrease their risk factors.
- Provides home visits and support services to Healthy Start participants according to the policies and procedures of the program
- Completes contract, programmatic, and organizational paperwork according to the policies and procedures of Healthy Start and the YWCA of Hawaii Island
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Intervention Specialist

DEPARTMENT and LOCATION: YWCA ENHANCED HEALTHY START PROGRAM 1392 Kilauea Avenue, Hilo, HI 96720
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Uphold and further the mission and the one imperative of the YWCA.
- In the context of a multi-disciplinary home visitation team, the specialist will visit all families, performs a
psycho-social assessment, and monitors concerns that affect children and families.
- Together with the family and the home visitation team, participates in the development of the Individual Family Support
Plan (IFSP) that specifies goals and a process for the services of the Intervention Specialist.
- Provides short-term,home based clinical interventions, motivates and prepares the families or individual family members
for long term treatment and counseling services, as appropriate.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- The YWCA Hamakua Program Assistant provides professional support to program director
in the administration, development, financial documentation of the program,
ensuring participation of persons from different ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.Integrates the YWCA philosophy regarding racial equality, empowerment, health, physical education, wellness and cultural appreciation.
- Uphold the mission and one imperative of the YWCA.
- Assists Program Director with grant and foundations documentation and data collation.
- Records minutes of meetings.
- Assists with tracking and coding expenditures for program.
- Assists Program Director with community outreach (advertising, brochures, etc.).
- Attends and participates in all staff meetings and mandatory/job specific trainings.
- Acts as liason to the community
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Finance Assistant II

- Check and enter invoices, disburse checks
- Reconcile and balance monthly bank statement,
vendors statements and payroll reports
- Balance A/P subsidiary ledger
- Enter employee master data, deductions, and EFT
- Prepare all monthly
billings and quarterly reports to funders
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Chief Financial Officer
or Human Resources Manager
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
