Advocate – Crisis Worker for our Sexual Assault Support Services Program
Positions are open in Hilo and in Kona
Summary - The Advocate position functions in a system of care which provides for the emotional and physical well-being of the sexual assault survivor and family members with the goal of providing services to reduce the trauma of sexual assault.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Provide active listening and crisis stabilization to individuals of sexual assault. Be willing to rotate on call responsibility with a team of other advocates which may include weekends from time to time providing seamless continuation of services 24 hours a day.
Participate face to face as a victim advocate with client, police and forensic examiner in forensic and investigative procedures after a sexual assault. Protect client confidentiality, observing the client's right to the Victim/Counselor privilege defined in Hawaii Rules of Evidence. Understand, interpret and follow state and federal laws regarding mandatory reporting of abuse of children and dependent adults. Participate in crisis team coordination and clinical supervision with the Program Director, Therapist, Crisis Coordinator and other advocates. Complete service documentation in a timely fashion, using the program tools and procedures. Participate in quality improvement and program monitoring. Attend assigned staff meetings and training. Duties Related to HIPAA: Protect the confidentiality of member, participant and YWCA information handled.
Education and Experience - One year college in a human services related program; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with children and adults is desirable.
Other Qualifications - This job requires a valid Hawaii Driver's License, dependable automobile and current automobile insurance (minimum bodily injury coverage at $100000/$300000) and current registration. Also required is an acceptable Traffic Abstract (no more than 2 moving violations) and Criminal Background Screening.
Must be able to commit to 35 hours of training prior to working on the job. The training is usually in 6-8 hour shifts over the course of 2 to 3 weeks.
Wage - $60.00/24 hour shift of primary on-call availability and $40.00/24 hours shift of secondary on-call, $15.00/hour direct service and $10.00/hour training. Travel time to and from face to face is included. Mandatory staff meetings at assigned district are paid by the hour, but travel time to and from meetings are not included. Training and meetings outside the district will be considered and approved on a case by case basis.

Summary: Assists and carries out clerical tasks in Teen Court by performing the following duties.

Prepares docket or calendar of cases to be called. Examines documents submitted to Teen Court for adherence to Teen Court procedures, prepares respondent files, and posts, files, or routes documents. Explains procedures or forms to parties in case. Facilitate participants on hearing nights.
Updates Teen Court database, respondent table, telephone numbers, personnel listings, etc.
Assists with processing complete and refer-back files to
Family Court.

Summary Coordinates and provides technical expertise to staff in a specialized patient care program by performing the following duties.

Upon referral from Clinical Supervisors, conducts home visits for each family and
collects information about clients (individuals, married couples, or families), using interview, case history, and observation techniques, and appraisal and assessment methods.
Analyzes information collected to determine advisability of counseling or referral to other specialist or agencies.
Conducts professional development sessions for all YWCA Healthy Start Program staff on family and child rearing dynamics.
In conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor, provides clinical consultation during case conferences with the Family Support Worker.
Consults reference material such as textbooks, manuals, and journals, to identify symptoms, make diagnoses, develop therapeutic or treatment plan.
Provides counseling sessions to families to help them identify and implement solutions to their concerns.
Counsels’ participant’s home with counseling methods and procedures, such as brief therapy or solution focused therapy, to assist participants in gaining insight into personal and interactive problems, to define goals, and to plan action reflecting abilities, needs, and goals of service plan.
Evaluates results of counseling methods to determine reliability and validity of treatment used.
Conducts a Concerns Inventory with the referred family in order to identify family stressors and to form the basis for support.
Conducts a Concerns Inventory with the family upon conclusion of counseling sessions to ascertain the impact of services on the family.
Participates as part of the Clinical Supervision Team in developing and refining program policies and procedures pertaining to family intervention.

Job Title: Home Visiting Clinical Supervisor

Summary: The Home Visiting Clinical Supervisor under the general direction of the Program Director, the Home Visiting Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of daily activities of the Family Support Worker team including administrative and service delivery components at the YWCA of Hawai'i Islands by performing the following duties.

Coordinates with and assists the Program Director in providing the initial and ongoing in-service training for Home Visiting team.
Provides clinical supervision of Family Support Workers including case reviews, case planning, and case management as appropriate.
Reviews and approves all case documentation on an on-going basis and assures that any cause which may involve "imminent harm", "threatened Harm", abuse or neglect is referred to Child Welfare Services (CWS).
Ensures close coordination between Home Visiting staff and all agencies and individuals involved with assessment of participants to assure maximum utilization of services by participant.
Provides information regarding program activities and policies to other organizations and the general public.
Attends case conferences as necessary.
Maintains participant confidentiality and oversees Home Visiting staff in assuring confidentiality.
Meets regularly with and demonstrates on-going availability to assigned Home Visiting staff to provide supportive supervision, guidance and monitoring of progress.
Assures all contract obligations are met including defined service activities, target group numbers and designated participant assessments.
Maintains required data collection systems for program, including information for program monitoring reports and program evaluation.

interested in and/or servicing our community in East Hawaii.
Other Qualifications: Must have a valid Hawai'i Driver's License, a dependable automobile and current auto insurance. The applicant must have a clean driving abstract, a clean criminal background/record check, and must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Education and/or Experience: Master's degree (M. A.) in Social Work, Human Development, or other related human services field preferred. Three years experience in a clinical setting and two years in human services program management preferred.
Bachelor's degree in one of the areas described above with five years experience in a clinical setting and two years human services management experience will be considered.
